For Those That Haven’t Been on Spring Break Yet

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Memphis chapter.

Finally, spring break is upon us! It’s time to get out the swimsuits, red solo cups, and beach towels. We have suffered a snowpocalypse and midterms so now it is time to take a week, relax, and have fun. Only one problem…tons of other people have the same plan. If you are like me you probably just want to relax on the beach or just get out of Memphis.  The problem is you don’t want to have tons of people overcrowding your slice of paradise. Destin, Miami, and Panama are all popular locations that will be overrun with college students. So, here are a few alternatives that will still give you an awesome spring break experience without all the fuss.

Orlando , FL

You would not think of Orlando as a great spring break location, but it is a great time to experience Disney world with shorter lines. If you want at taste of the beach you are not that far away from one. This helps make Orlando an excellent choice for spring break.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

If you want another stamp on your passport, Punta Cana is for you.  The country has great beaches and active nightlife that you cannot go wrong with here.  You’re in actual paradise.

Las Vegas , NV

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. This is the greatest time to visit Sin City since it is the off-season.  Now is the time that you will get more bang for your buck. Enjoy the late nights, the crazy street costumes, and try not to gamble all of your money away.  This may not be the best option for those under 21.

New Orleans, LA

Not far from Memphis is the Crescent City. Known for its awesome parties on Bourbon Street, this is a perfect spring break destination. It is only 30 minutes from the Mississippi Gulf Coast as well as the casinos. So, you have the freedom to go to the beach by day and party at night, while avoiding overwhelming crowds.
