With spring break right around the corner, you may be hitting the gym at Elon more than before. If you’ve had the same workout routine for a while and you’re not seeing results, try any of these off-campus workouts to work up a sweat and challenge your body. 

 

1. Pure Barre in Greensboro 

Although it’s further away, this workout is worth the drive! Pure Barre is a 55-minute full body ballet barre class. It targets all the areas us collegiettes may want to tone up: hips, thighs, arms, abs and glutes. Even though it’s low impact, this workout will leave you sore in the morning. The barre workout will create a long and lean physique without bulking up. You can see results in just 10 classes and they offer a $90 unlimited month package for new students. 

 

2.  Om Shanti Yoga

Looking to tone up and de-stress? Om Shanti Yoga studio is conveniently located next to Panera Bread in Burlington. This calming studio offers various class times and levels to fit right into your schedule. They have different packages and offer student discounts. Channel your inner yogi and challenge your body with holding the different postures. Try the Level 2-3 Hot yoga class to strengthen and detoxify. 

 

3.  The Cycle Loft in Greensboro 

Want to burn mega calories while toning up your lower half? Try spinning at The Cycle Loft. With classes 7 times a week, getting in shape will be no problem with their unlimited month package for only $35. New to spinning? Try your first class for only $5 on Fridays. Make sure to bring plenty of water and towel – be prepared to sweat a lot! 

 

There are many benefits to mixing up your workout, such as breaking through a weight-loss plateau, beating boredom and preventing injury. It will also make exercising seem less like a chore and more exciting. Try any of these off-campus workouts to challenge your body and get in shape!
