Each year, during an icy week in the month of February, crowds gather from around the world for the holy grail of fashion. This is a chance for the artists that design the clothes on our backs to strut their stuff and show off their best work. Kim K. gets a front row seat, the models would kill for a hamburger, and anyone who’s anyone is live-tweeting the runway… It’s Fashion Week.

Although not all of us have the chance, or cash, to wear designer clothes each day, the things seen on the runway serve as inspiration for every other clothing brand around the world. Your favorite sweater from Express? At one point in time a piece very similar, and much more expensive, was walking the runway. Because of this, I would just like to say all hail to the designers. It truly is art.

Here is a quick recap of someone of the greatest and strangest seen during NYFW this year.

Joie

Proenza Schouler

Erin Fetherston

Marc by Marc Jacobs

Michael Kors

Alexander Wang

There’s no doubt that all of the pieces that walked the runway this year were completely amazing, no matter how out of this world they might have been. Here’s to the close of another successful NYFW!

Hillary (@hillarybautch) is an aspiring yogi, a writer, an amateur photographer, and the first to offer a witty anecdote. She loves curling up with a good book, but rarely allows herself the time. She is one of "those" morning people and has complete faith in the higher power that is Beyonce.
Madison is a senior at the University of Wisconsin pursuing a major in English Literature with minors in Entrepreneurship and Digital Media Studies. Post college, Madison plans to complete her dreams of being the next Anna Wintour. In her free time, Madison enjoys listening to Eric Hutchinson, eating dark chocolate, and FaceTiming her puppies back home. When she isn't online shopping, or watching YouTube bloggers (ie Fleur DeForce), Madison loves exploring the vast UW Campus and all it has to offer! She is very excited to take this next step in her collegiette career as Campus Correspondent and Editor-in-Chief for HC Wisco. On Wisconsin!
