Â
What made you choose to come to Hawaii?
To get rid of the snow and hang out in the sun. And to become a professional surfer…that’s not really happening.
Â
What did you want to be when you were little?
I wanted to be everything! I guess I wanted to be a medic in the Army for a really long time.
Â
If you could live in any time period, what would it be?
Time of the knights, like middle ages. I want to joust and hit people with swords. Anytime where there’s knights.
Â
What types of things do you like to do on your free time?
Hiking, adventuring, surfing, swimming, anything outside.
Â
If money wasn’t an issue, what’s something you would really like to do?
Travel to every single country in the world.
Â
What’s your favorite Olympic sport and why?
Well, that’s an easy one. That would be luge because I did luge for 14 years, and I was two spots away from making the games. I raced at the Olympic level for four years.
Â
What’s something that terrifies you?
Bees and sea urchins. Pokey things.
Â
If you could go to any awards show, what would it be?
The ESPYS because I like sports.
Â
Who’s your favorite celebrity?
Russell Brand.
Â
What type of music do you listen to?
I listen to everything, absolutely everything. There’s no music I don’t like, except maybe the mainstream hip-hop; that can get pretty annoying.
Â
What do you usually order at restaurants?
I would say any really good meat plate dinner. Ribs are my favorite.
Â
What’s your favorite animal?
Penguins, monkeys, and moose.
Â
If you were anyone or anything in a past life, who or what do you think it would be?
That’s a hard question. Hmmm, I was a knight, that’s what I was.
Â
What’s your favorite season?
It used to be winter, but I would have to say fall.
Â
What’s the one thing you miss the most about home?
Well that’s easy, my family.
