HC: Tell us about yourself!
CW: I am the president of the Stout Dance Ensemble and have been an active member of that for all five years I’ve been at Stout. I really love to dance and it’s a good way for me to stay creative and release all the stress of the day. I know one of the other campus cuties talked about dance ensemble recently but I would just like to say that it is open to anyone who wants to join; whether this is your first time or you’ve danced competition all your life. Tryouts are strictly so we can figure out people’s schedules and we can place them in dances based around that. I enjoy listening to music and hanging out with all my friends. I studied abroad in China and now talk about it all the time to anyone because it was the greatest experience of my life. Everyone should seriously consider going abroad to study at some point in his or her college career because it is life changing. I’m a very high energy and bubbly person who sometimes gets ridiculously excited about simple things.
HC: What’s your favorite place on campus?
CW: Probably the upper level of the MSC because I spend the most time here waiting in between my classes. It’s a really good place to people watch, which I love doing.
HC: Do you have a favorite professor or class?
CW: My favorite professor is probably George Duychak. He is a retail professor that is open to new thoughts and ideas. My favorite class is my photography lighting class that I’m currently taking. There are a lot of free reigns on it and we have complete control over what we want to do for our class project. That’s really fun because we can create our own experiences with lighting our photos.
HC: What’s your dream job?
CW: My dream job would to live in Stockholm, Sweden working for H&M in their independent brands group, MONKI. However I’d eventually like to own my own apparel company and hire Stout graduates. This is why I have a thousand minors and concentrations.
HC: What’s the best advice you ever got?
CW: “Sometimes things may be really shitty, but you just have to get over it and enjoy it because you don’t have forever.”  –Wanda Rimested. She told me this after my last breakup because her husband has been diagnosed with PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) and only has two years to live. www.psp.org is the website for it and people should check it out.
HC: Who is your biggest influence?
CW:Â My sister Amanda; she has a heart of gold and is the most caring and inspirational person that is always there for me.
HC: What is something that most people don’t know about you?
CW: When I graduate I want to take some type of trip, preferably on a motorcycle, from Amery to Santiago, Chile because that’s where I was born. And if anyone wants to join me feel free to contact me because I don’t want to go solo and end up as a missing person.
HC: What is your go to dance song when you go out?
CW: “All Night Longer” by Sammy Adams
HC: What advice do you have for your freshman self?
CW: Don’t hold onto people or things that are going to drag you down or hold you back from what you really want in life. This too shall pass; both the good and the bad.      Â
HC: Where can you be found on a Friday night?
CW:Â At the Market having a good time with my friends.
