What do you find most rewarding about working with the groups you volunteer with?: I love having the opportunity to build genuine relationships. I love getting to experience how relationships can strengthen and develop when you simply just get to know one another and care about one another. I also love being able to see the students I work with become comfortable with who they are and what they love!
Favorite place in Olaf you’ve lived: THE POD in Ytt 124
Favorite Book: The Shack completely opened up my mind and challenged me to think in a different way. I also can’t leave out Harry Potter!
What projects have you taken on that you’re most proud of?: I was super excited about the panel we held last year “A Spectrum of Perspectives”. Awesome Club invited a wide array of people to campus to raise awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorder. The panel included a MN legislator, Northfield School District’s Autism Resource Specialist, St. Olaf College Professor Dana Gross, and Miss Minnesota 2013. I also am very proud of the Person-First Campaign we are running this week with SSN! Come take the pledge to End the Word and use Person-First Language!
Favorite TV show: The Office and Friends
What do you want the ladies of St. Olaf to know?: I want the ladies of St. Olaf to know that they are all killin’ it. We all bring our own passions and talents to this campus and I feel so blessed to have learned from and grown from the many interactions I’ve had with the incredible people I am surrounded by. Keep on keepin’ on.
