Collegiettes™, put your hands up if you watched Lizzie McGuire.

Most of your hands should have gone up because our Disney Channel days were the golden days and Lizzie McGuire was at the height of that.

Lizzie McGuire seemed like the perfect alter ego for all girls going into middle school. We can all admit that at one point or another, we felt like we were insignificant and wondered if there was anything talented or special about us at all. Lizzie was always able to remind us that there is, no matter how many times we might feel otherwise. And most importantly of all, she taught us that even though life can sometimes seem like one big awkward moment between birth and death, there’s a graceful way to handle every situation. Now that we are in college, these seem like such insignificant things to look back on. However, as simple they are, these ideals formed our teenage years. Here are a few lessons taught by this iconic teen and her friends:

2. Even though the status quo might have seemed like the most important thing in the world, there were and still are more important things in life:

3. It’s okay to embrace growing up, however comically:

4. Our friends are always there to defend us when we seem to have lost our voice:

5. And even when we hit a bump in the road with our friendships, there’s always a way back to them:

7. Because maybe the person we are meant to be with will be right in front of us. We just might take a while to notice it:
