Year: Sophomore
Major and Minor: Communications Studies with a minor in Media Studies
Hometown: Somerset, Massachusetts
What activities are you involved in on campus?  I am the VP of Membership for Delta Zeta Sorority as well as the Sports Information Director for the USF men’s and women’s tennis teams and sand volleyball.
What interests or hobbies do you have off campus? I love spending time with my friends and Delta Zeta sisters and find cool new places around the city. I also am interested in sports communications and love my job on campus, it honestly doesn’t feel like work because I work with incredible people and I am doing something that interests me. I also take part in community service at San Francisco RBI where I read with middle school students as well as teach them game of baseball
If someone were to look for you on campus where would they find you? The Athletic Department or UC because I am always in there for meetings, eating, or doing homework.
How did you choose your major and minor? I have always been interested in communications since high school. At my high school I was one of three students who created an anti-bullying committee and spoke to multiple schools on the awareness of bullying. When my state learned about my school’s efforts, we were asked to present our findings to an audience of 10,000 people. After seeing how much my communication efforts affected thousands, I knew that I wanted to major in communication studies and see how my voice could impact the world.
What has been one of your greatest experiences at USF? One of my greatest experiences was joining my sorority, Delta Zeta. From receiving a bid, getting a little, and being chosen as an executive board member, it truly has shaped me into a stronger, more independent and out-going person.
What is your advice for someone who is trying to find their way at USF? Get involved!! Looking into clubs or groups that are interested in the same things that you are allows you to meet people who are similar to you. Being apart of something bigger then just yourself helps shape who you are and who you will become. Taking the risk to put yourself out there is worth it, if I didn’t take the risks that I have, I wouldn’t have been able to make the lasting friendships that I have made and been provided with once in a lifetime opportunities from USF.
How would you like to be remembered after you leave USF? I would like to be remembered for being someone who made a positive impact on another’s life. Even if someone doesn’t know me personally I hope they remember me as someone who was welcoming, and always said hello. That no matter the day, I was someone they would always see smiling.
