Ah, Barone. We all hear a lot of different things about our dining hall. What most people don’t realize is how creative you can be when it comes to your meals. With a little bit of creativity, you can turn any Barone meal into a 5-star dining experience.
Barone Style Omelet
First, I put a little bit of oil in my pan and sauté some onions, peppers, and ham. I cook these for a few minutes. Next, I add eggs (which can be substituted with egg whites) until the onions, peppers, and ham are covered. Then, add some shredded cheddar cheese and spinach. I let the eggs cook for a few moments and then move them around to assure they aren’t getting burnt on the bottom. Pair this with a coffee and fruit on the side and you’re good to go!
Fried Rice
My friends and I make this fried rice at least once a week. You can add pretty much whatever you want, but here’s what I do: I coat the pan with some oil and then add a small amount of eggs. Cook the eggs, consistently moving them around so they don’t get burned. Next, add onions, peppers, and a little bit more oil. Once those are cooked, add your white or brown rice. Consistently stir the rice and other ingredients and after a few moments, add some teriyaki sauce. A little goes a long way! After about a minute, your rice should be cooked and ready to eat! After I plate the fried rice, I slice up some grilled chicken and mix that in as well.
Waffle Sundaes
When I really want a treat, I make this delicious dessert. First, make a waffle; making sure it is well cooked. Next, head over to the ice cream. Personally, I add a scoop of vanilla ice cream, but you can experiment with different flavors. Then, I add whipped cream and strawberries. Feel free to add chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, or another kind of fruit!
Root Beer Floats
I have to give my roommate, Nicole Alfonsi, the credit for this dessert! This one only takes a minute to make. Fill a cup with soft serve vanilla ice cream. Then, add root beer and top with whipped cream.
