Ladies, we have all been or will be in this situation at some point in our lives. I’m currently in this situation and so are many of my friends. Your guy appears to A: give off mixed signals, B: make it seem as though you are the only woman in his life, or C: has totally made it clear you are just a friend and read too much into it. The true question we are dying to know from our guy is: Am I your main chick or just your side chick?
The following are some signs you are the main chick girls, since he has yet to tell you what you are in his life.
1. He takes you out in public
If you are the main chick, your guy will want to take you out public. He’ll want to show everyone that you’re his girl. It could be taking you to the movies, going out to dinner, grabbing coffee, or simply wanting to take a walk with you. Yes, there are times that he’ll want to stay in and watch Netflix, but it shouldn’t be every time. This is a clear sign that you may be the side chick.
2. He wants to know you
Your guy will want to get to know you. He’ll ask questions such as what were you like in high school, what do you like to do for fun, what do you want to do with your career, or what type of music do you like, the list goes on and on. If he doesn’t ask a single question about you then you are probably the side chick.
3. He goes out of his way to talk to you or see you
If you’re the main chick in his life, he will go out of his way to talk to you or see you. It could be waiting for you when you’re finished with your lecture just to walk with you when his lecture is all the way across campus. He calls you just to see how you’re doing, and it is NOT a booty call. He will make time in his schedule to see you.
4. He cares about you
If you’re his main chick, he cares about you. You are his first priority. He is actually going to ask how you feel about everything whether you’re upset, happy, or angry etc. He’ll be concerned about your well-being. I’m not saying that if you’re the side chick he doesn’t care about you, but it won’t be as much as he does for his main chick.
Those are just a few of the signs, but if you can’t say yes to at least one of these then you are the side chick. Never settle to be the side chick! You deserve more than to be a part of his harem, a notch on his belt and so on. If he made you his side chick, then who is to say he doesn’t have another one too? Forget about this guy and find one that will make you the main chick in his life.
