Fun, but Affordable, Gifts to Get Your Significant Other

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapman chapter.

1. Chocolate. Yes, chocolate is traditional and not so unique but there are ways to personalize it. You can get your Significant Other chocolate shaped like something they are interested in, like something sports-related or having to do with a hobby.

2. Personalized conversation hearts. It’s like a Valentine’s Day card – but better! The sweethearts allow you to be romantic, but they can also be funny. Most websites let you choose the hearts’ messages, colors, and packaging.

3. Compile @ValentinesCards. The Twitter page tweets pictures of funny (but sometimes inappropriate) Valentine’s Day cards; for example, a picture of Leonardo DiCaprio that says, “I want you more than an Oscar.” Pick your favorites, print them out, and let your S.O. know how much you like them!

4. Make a photo album. Choose your favorite photos together and compile them in a photo album. He’ll love looking through it when he misses you, and it’s a fun – and affordable – way of showing someone how much they mean to you.

5. Create a playlist. A.K.A. the 21st Century version of a mixed tape. Add songs that remind you of him or that you enjoy listening to together to a Spotify playlist and then share it with him. He’ll think of you every time he listens to it!

6. Breakfast in bed. Wake up early and prepare his favorite breakfast. Grab some bacon, a few pancakes, maybe some sliced fruit and put it on a tray. He’ll love that you thought of him, and who doesn’t love breakfast in bed?

7. Concert tickets. If you’re not looking to spend a lot of money, just get general admission or nosebleeds in the back. All that matters is listening to the music and being together, right?
