If you want a quick run down of the 2015 Super Bowl halftime show, here it is. Picture the craziest, most random, incredible and mesmerizing show you can imagine, and Katy Perry just topped it. Saying that she rocked it would be an understatement. With four costume changes, guest stars Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliot, and her colorful set, Katy definitely did not disappoint. She sang a medley of several of her top hit songs during the 12 minute performance. Katy began the show as epically as you could expect by riding in on a giant golden lion. I repeat, a GIANT GOLDEN LION.

As the shown went on, another part of Katy’s set design that stood out were the dancing sharks; most importantly, left shark. The dancing sharks were a huge hit with the crowd, because they were pretty much adorable. Aside from that, left shark stood out and made his way to fame by actually forgetting dance moves. I’m sure by now you have seen the vines, GIFs, or watched it live and saw poor little left shark crack under pressure. If for some reason you haven’t seen it yet, Google it.

After the dancing sharks stole the show, most of us probably thought Katy couldn’t impress us anymore (or at least I did, because just look at them. I want one.); but wait, there’s more! Katy’s surprise guest performer Missy Elliot takes the stage and brings her rhyme and rhythm with her. Since most of you probably thought Missy had fallen off the face of the earth, you can imagine the shock and awe everyone felt as they found themselves twerking in their living room to Missy’s throwback jams that we all forgot we knew.

And finally, just when you thought you couldn’t take any more, Katy once again blows us all away. For the final part of Katy’s medley, she flew around the stadium on a shooting star while she sang “Firework.” Of course you can’t sing this song at the Super Bowl without letting off perfectly timed fireworks to go along with the song, so you know that’s just what Katy did. Now, you can call that going out with a bang… ha ha. All in all, the show was spectacular, and you could expect nothing else from Katy Perry. After the show all social media exploded with reactions to the show, and its safe to say pretty much everyone loved it as much as I did, Many people were saying that Katy’s show topped Beyonce’s halftime show from 2013. While that is just some people’s opinion, its an honor to even be mentioned in the same sentence as Queen B. Slay Katy, slay.
