Need a pick me up this winter break? Go to Disneyland. I just returned from the most magical 8 day vacation to the Happiest Place on Earth, and I want to share some of my “must sees” in Disneyland this holiday season.Â
10. Â The Christmas Decor
There wouldn’t be any holiday ambiance without the Disneyland Resort literally transformed into a holiday snowglobe. From icesicle lights on Sleeping Beauty’s Castle to over 2,000 feet worth of holiday garland, there is nothing less than magical about Christmas at Disneyland.
9. Â Holiday Music
One of my favorite parts about visiting the Disneyland Resort is the music blasting through the park to create that magical effect. During the holidays, you better believe that they blast Christmas music in place of the regular Disney soundtrack. Plus, if you stay at a Disney hotel and decide you want to take a dip at the pool during the day when crowds are at the peak, you better believe they keep the same Christmas track at the pool area to keep the holiday spirit strong no matter what the activity.Â
8. Â Longer Park HoursÂ
Holiday season also means holiday crowds. Don’t ever let the fear of mass crowds keep you from visiting during the most magical time of the year. Since the attendance is at the peak during holiday season, the parks are typically open 8:00 a.m. to midnight. Tip from the wise: always utilize those extended hours. Even if it means taking a nap in the middle of the day when crowds are heaviest, you will get the most of your stay this way.
7. Â Holiday Themed Attractions
Classic rides also show their festive side during the holiday season. Those rides include Haunted Mansion, It’s a Small World, and the Jungle Cruise.Â
6. Â Disney Holiday Sweaters
Yes, you read that right. Disneyland features all kinds of wonderful merchandise specials for the holidays, such as my personal favorite, the “ugly” sweater.
5. Â Special Holiday Treats
I think the picture says it all on this one.Â
4. Â Special Holiday Fireworks
The holiday fireworks are even more magical than the regular ones. I know, how do they do it?
3. Â Snow on Main Street
At the end of the night (usually right after the fireworks or Fantasmic), the entire Disneyland Park will be covered in fake snow. Oh, its awesome!Â
2. Â World of Color hosted by Olaf
I promise you that is a real thing. What could be more perfect than Olaf himself, star of Frozen (the movie that makes you want a fireplace and fuzzy socks), narrarating and guiding us all along the best show on earth? We all know World of Color is the sole reason to even go to Disneyland in the first place. Trust me, you’ll be glad you drove 12 hours in a cramped vehicle to watch it with your own eyes!Â
1. Â Churros
The ultimate reason to visit Disneyland at any time of the year is to enjoy a Disneyland Churro. There is no limit to how many you can consume while at the Happiest Place on Earth, since afterall, they have zero calories (am I right?).
