12 Reasons to Study Abroad in Paris

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

If you’re thinking about studying abroad, here are 15 reasons why I chose the City of Lights and why you should too!

1, Perfect for studying art history – Finish your core requirements!

2. Centrally located – Paris is only a 1-2 hour flight from most major cities in Europe, great excuse to visit all your friends.

3. You get to learn French in the city that defined the words “romantic” and “chic”.

4. There’s never a dull moment! – There’s always something to do, or a new area, street or café to explore.

5. The city is your classroom – Le Louvre, Centre Pompidou, Musée d’Orsay, L’Orangerie, Musée Picasso, Musée Rodin, or Musée Carnavalet, the museums are endless.

6. It’s acceptable to have wine and cheese with every meal, and of course a baguette!

7. And macaroons too.

8. Because watching the Eiffel Tower light up every night never gets old.

9. Even in the rain, Paris is still magical.

10. Because you’re walking amongst history.

11. As one of the biggest cities in Europe for students, there’s always something fun going on, opportunities to make new friends, and tons of discounts for students.

12. Because when else will you ever get to say you studied and lived in Paris for four months.

The reasons to study abroad in Paris are endless. The friends and memories you’ll make will last you a lifetime. Studying abroad is an opportunity you certainly won’t regret, the people, the culture, the food, the history, and the atmosphere is absolutely magical. You’ll learn more about yourself and the world than you ever could in a classroom, and you’ll have an amazing time along the way!
