Her Campus: What are you studying and what year are you in?
Cassy Aite: Commerce with a focus in Finance and I’m in 4th year
HC: How are you involved on campus?
CA: I am the president of uOSIC (university of Ottawa Student Investor Club), a volunteer with the club Enactus, and I am on the uOttawa’s men’s soccer team.
HC: What’s your favourite part of Ottawa?
CA: My favourite part about Ottawa is that I think it’s a “big city with a small town feel”.
HC: Tell me about the worst date you’ve ever been on
CA: I went on a date with a girl one time and it was really boring. She was constantly checking her phone.
HC: What are 3 things that attract you to a girl?
CA: I’m attracted to girls who are down to earth, have a sense of humor, and have nice eyes.
HC: What would your dream date entail?
CA: My dream date would include going on an adventure and doing something outdoors in a foreign country.
HC: Who’s someone that you admire and/or look up to?
CA: I admire my mom and dad. They are two people who I always go to for advice. It can be related to my career, relationship, or whatever. They’re always there for me.
HC: Have you ever used a funny pickup line or has someone ever used one on you? Did it work?
CA: [Laughs] I’m not sure; I might have used one at a bar. As a joke, I always say this one to my friends: “Are you a beaver? Because, damn girl!”
HC: What’s a fashion trend that confuses you?
CA: Uggs. They don’t make sense! Are they warm? They’re not even waterproof.
HC: If you were given 3 wishes (you can’t wish for more wishes) what would you wish for?
CA: Can I wish for superpowers?
HC: Yes
CA: I’d wish for:
1) The ability to freeze time
2) Teleportation to anywhere in the world
3) The ability to see into the future
HC: What’s your dream travel destination?
CA: I want to do a trip to Asia and I think this summer I’ll do that. I just came back from China a few weeks ago, but I was only able to see Beijing.
HC: What qualities do you try to avoid in a significant other?
CA: I think it’s very attractive when a girl has goals and aspirations, so if she isn’t ambitious, I see that as a turn off. Another turnoff is a poor sense of humor.
HC: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
CA: I’ll be working and hopefully a CEO of a fortune 500 by then. I don’t know about starting a family yet. I might be in Chicago, New York, or Vancouver.
HC: Do you think girls should “make the first move” more often?
CA: Yeah, why not? I think a lot of girls are afraid of showing their emotions and sometimes I think guys are too. I’m a big fan of open communication and it’s important to me. I think, if a girl is into you, she shouldn’t be afraid to tell you.
