Ah, wintertime is here and love is in the air! This time of year everyone wants to cuddle up with their sweetie with a big blanket and some hot chocolate and watch movies. Even if you haven’t found your Prince Charming, these movies are sure to make you feel happy and hopeful. Besides, who doesn’t enjoy a good love story?
1. 13 Going on 30
· Why I love it: This movie is proof that no matter how many wrong turns you take in life, you can always fix it and that true love will find you. Even though this movie features magical elements, the love is all too real.
2. Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement
· Why I love it: This is another movie that shows you that true love will always find you when you aren’t paying attention and even if you try and fight it, like Princess Mia does, it’s inevitable.
3. Love Actually
· Why I love it: This movie explores multiple different love stories that eventually all come together at the end. It shows how people of all ages can experience love.
4. Titanic
· Why I love it: Do I even need to say why this movie is so great? This is a classic love story where an upper class woman falls for a man who is poor financially but not where it counts, in his heart.
5. While You Were Sleeping
· Why I love it: Sandra Bullock is brilliant in this movie. She is in love with a man from afar and winds up saving him from dying. While he is a coma, she unexpectedly falls madly in love with his brother. The twist is, the man thinks she’s his brother’s fiancée!
6. Safe Haven:
· Why I love it: Have you ever dreamed of starting your life over in a small little town and meeting the love of your life? If so, this movie is for you. It features mystery and excitement and of course, the most important part, the dreamy Josh Duhamel.
7. Ever After:
· Why I love it: If you enjoyed Cinderella, you’ll love this movie. This movie moves away from the fairytale- like aspect and moves towards a more realistic storyline. It’s still a beautifully romantic movie with a twist of reality.
8. Sleepless in Seattle:
· Why I love it: People thousands of miles away falling in love after corresponding through letters? How romantic! This movie also features the iconic scene that every girl hopes for: Meeting at the Eiffel Tower on Valentine’s Day.
9. Maid in Manhattan:
· Why I love it: A mix up between a hotel maid and one of its guests, a politician, leads to a tale of love that beats the odds. It faces many challenges but their love it true.
10. Stardust:
· Why I love it: A man is trying to win his true love’s affection but she’ll only agree to marry him if he brings her a fallen star. What he doesn’t realize is that the star has taken on human form and the journey will make him realize what true love really is.
11. A Christmas Kiss:
· Why I love it: This holiday movie shows that an unexpected meeting with an attractive man can lead to so much more.
