As the clock clicks closer and closer to Black Friday, it’s time to refine your list of all of the stores you plan on targeting. With all of the amazing sales that seem to pop up, it’s no wonder that that list gets longer each year! To ensure that you are not wasting unnecessary time in the dressing room, take a look at my top pieces to wear when shopping this holiday season.
1) Hunters, or any other slip on boot. They can easily be taken on and off, and are likely to ensure a quicker trip in and out of the dressing room!
2) Dark wash skinny jeans. They go with everything, and it is much easier to tell if that cream sweater you are trying on looks good with dark wash jeans than trying to imagine the outfit while wearing your dingy, four-year-old sweatpants. Bonus points: you won’t have to try on another pair to get the full look, and will avoid buying an extra unnecessary pair of jeans! NOTE: Make sure they have a little stretch. It’s the day after Thanksgiving, and wearing your tightest skinnies may be a little ambitious.
3) Oversized sweater. I do not mean your favorite grimy, high school sweatshirt. I mean a cozy, light weight sweater that you won’t overheat in, but at the same time, will keep you looking polished while you shop.
4) Camisole. Wearing a tight, spandex-material tank top underneath your oversized sweater will make it easier to slip in and out of all of those glitzy tops you plan to wear to all of your holiday parties.
5) Cross-body. I love my Marc Jacobs nylon cross-body because it is big enough to hold my wallet, makeup bag, and anything else I would need, but it is still compact enough that it doesn’t get in the way. While we all have that gorgeous top handle bag, I would save that for a holiday party, where you can wear it in to be seen, but then set it down. You want as much free hand/arm space Black Friday for all of your purchases.
Black Friday can be one of the craziest days of the year for retail. These five pieces will get you in and out of the dressing room as quickly as possible, and keep you looking just as good as any of the mannequins you are fawning over. Happy shopping!
