‘Twas The Night Before Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Duke chapter.

‘Twas the night before finals when all through the campus

Students were awake, studying was rampant.

All semester the textbooks sat on the shelf

Then at last you opened them to teach yourself.

Econ and bio and physics and chem,

Is it possible to find time to learn all of them?

Five hour energy, Red Bull, and coffee abound,

You must stay awake, there are derivatives to be found!

In the BC, in Perkins, in Bostock, in Lilly,

Time ticked by quickly, no time to dally or dilly.

Unless of course your favorite show just premiered,

Then to Netflix you went as the time disappeared.

Thoughts of winter break dance in your head,

Soon you’ll be home and sleeping in your own bed.

Family and friends to see and good food to eat,

Maybe even holiday presents, or a special treat.

Though before all that comes, there are tests to be taken,

Keep it up a little longer, don’t let your confidence be shaken.

You can take on the world, climb up level by level,

Believe in yourself, because you’re a mighty Blue Devil!
