On a budget this Halloween and looking to make your own costume? Well, with a little creativity and some stuff you already have in your closet, you can!

Here are 10 great DIY costumes:

1. Beanie Babies

What you need:

  • Clothing the color of your favorite animal
  • Ears of the animal of your choice

The most important part is to make the red heart with the TY symbol that all Beanie Babies wear. To do this, use red and white construction paper. Punch a hole in the heart and tie a ribbon through it, so you can wear it around your neck.

2. Nail polish

What you need:

  • A dress the color of your favorite nail polish
  • A white hat to serve as the top of the bottle

Add the letters of your favorite nail polish (essie, Covergirl, etc.) to the dress, and there you have it!

3.Starbuck cups

What you need:

  • A white dress with a printed Starbucks logo glued to the front

Take a black sharpie and write your favorite Starbucks order on the back of the dress. Maybe PSL for fall?

4. Candy bars

What you need:

  • A top or dress the color of a candy bar
  • Black leggings to complete the outfit

Get creative with decorating your top!

5. Deck of Cards

What you need:

  • A white dress
  • Sharpie

Decorate the dress with diamonds, spades, clubs or hearts. Don’t forget to add the number of the card!

6. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

What you need:

  • A green outfit
  • Yellow and brown fabric paint

Wear a mask the color of your favorite TMNT. Feeling extra creative? Paint a foil turkey pan, tie a ribbon around it and wear on your back as the shell!

7. Cereal boxes

What you need:

  • An outfit the color of the cereal box of your choice
  • Fabric paint

This cereal box costume is very similar to the candy bars. Get creative with the logo!

8. Crayons

What you need:

  • A dress in favorite color
  • Black Sharpie

Write “Crayola” and sketch out the design of a crayon on your dress. Top your outfit with a party hat that matches the color of your dress!

9. Teletubbies

What you need:

  • A top and skirt (or dress) with the appropriate color
  • Pipe cleaners (to create antenna)

10. Victoria’s Secret bags

What you need:

  • An old Victoria’s Secret bag
  • A pink skirt
  • Pink bow

Cut up the bag so that you can wear it as a top. Add a girly bow to your hair to complete the outfit!
