Are full memory cards and camera lenses cluttering your desk after your recent trip? Regardless of where you went or how big or small the journey was, your adventure had to be documented by somebody, right? Now you’ve ended up with hundreds of photos gathering dust in cyberspace. Join the club.
Instead of letting your gorgeous pictures wither away in useless folders on the computer, get creative and display them for the world to see. Here are a few ideas:
Put Them On Social Media
If you haven’t done so already, put your most memorable photos up on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, etc. Your friends and family will love browsing through them and getting to experience your trip through the pictures you post. Plus, your artsy pics will get tons of likes (whether out of jealously or genuine happiness for you, you’ll never really know).
Submit Them
If you’ve managed to capture that one in a million picture, it’s worth submitting in a contest or to a magazine. Who knows? Maybe you’ll get your name scrawled under a photo in “National Geographic.” Most publications have a way you can send in your pictures online and there’s a plethora of photography contests out there just waiting for your Google search.
Scrapbook It
The word “scrapbook” makes me imagine a young girl pasting frilly bows, cutout hearts and twinkling glitter over cheesy photo-lain pages, but I assure you, it can be quite the opposite. There’s an endless possibility when you’ve got plenty of pages to fill. Glue in pictures and add whatever personal touches you desire, whether it be ribbons and sparkles, handwritten memories, or ticket stubs.
Make an Old-fashioned Photo Album
It may seem a little outdated, but a photo album can be a great way to organize and store precious travel memories. Simpler and, in a way, more elegant than a scrapbook, a photo album can also serve as an excellent gift for family members or friends who went on the trip with you. They will love flipping through the pages and re-experiencing your time together.
Frame ’Em
Yeah, you could hang store-bought paintings and pictures on your walls. Or you could put up your own amazing photography. If you really love a photo or two (or three or four or five) you took, get it framed and display it in your home for not only you, but also your guests to appreciate.
Create a Unique Coffee Mug
Make a collage of your favorite moments from your trip by putting your photos inside a clear to-go coffee mug or tumbler. These types of mugs can easily be found at Target or Starbucks. Now every time you take a sip of your morning coffee, you’ll be flooded with a dose of caffeine and fond memories.
