There is a time when black and gold fills the air, alumni return to their beloved campus, the football hype increases and students tap their toes in class just waiting to be freed for one of the most anticipated weekends of the year at Mizzou. IT’S HOMECOMING.
Homecoming to Mizzou is like a pumpkin spice latte to fall — the best part. Just like no fall season would be complete without the trademark latte, Mizzou would just not be the same without one of its most coveted traditions. Her Campus Mizzou has compiled a list of signs that tell us it’s Homecoming Week at Mizzou.
1. Greek members are stressing out about finishing their house decorations, their float and winning Fling.
2. Alumni come back and you smile when you hear them reminiscing.Â
3. You hear “we invented Homecoming” at least 5 times a day and you’re not even annoyed.Â
4. American Red Cross takes over Hearnes Center for the largest blood drive in the nation.
5. The bookstore line gets 10 times longer because everyone wants a new game day outfit for Homecoming.
6. Teachers end class with “M-I-Z” and you know exactly how to respond.Â
7. Kids randomly appear in Greektown.Â
8. The green grass turns black and gold because no one tailgates better than Mizzou.Â
9. You can’t see out the windows of any store or restaurant downtown because their windows are decorated.Â
10. The pride of Mizzou football increases and thoughts of last year’s game are a thing of the past because we’re One Mizzou.
