Let’s throw it back to the 90s (and a little earlier to the 80s) to the best Halloween movie classics of all time.
1. Ghostbusters (1984)
Who you gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS! Three parapsychologists from New York City start a ghost-catching business. Activity linked to an ancient god threatens and overwhelms both the team and the entire world. Yikes!
2. Beetlejuice (1988)
A recently deceased couple calls upon the most obnoxious ghost you will ever meet, named Beetlejuice, to help keep new inhabitants away from their former home. Weirdest movie EVER!
3. The Addams Family (1991)
In a nutshell, the wealthy family has been lied to, and they let a stranger who they think to be Uncle Fester into their home. In reality, this “Uncle” is trying to unleash his evil plan to steal the family’s money. What happened to the real Uncle Fester and does the family ever find out?
4. Hocus Pocus (1993)
Three wicked sisters are brought back from the dead by a virgin. Yes, a VIRGIN! On All Hallow’s Eve, Max (the virgin), his sister, and his school crush attempt to stop the witches from sucking the souls out of children (so they can stay young forever) and send them back to the “other side.” There’s a talking black cat too!
5. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
This is Halloween, this is Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, Halloween! Jack Skellington opens up a new portal to Christmas Town. He becomes mesmerized by all the Christmas lights, white snow, and Old Saint Nick and attempts to recreate the holiday with a spooky spin to it, because after all, he is The Pumpkin King.
6. Frankenstein (1994)
Victor Frankenstein creates an artificial man and, soon after, completely rejects him. This sends the monster into a rage and he seeks revenge against his guilt-ridden creator. Watch out Victor!
7. Casper (1995)
No worries, he’s a friendly ghost! A paranormal expert and his daughter move into an abandoned and haunted house where three mischievous ghosts, and one friendly one, lead them on the greatest adventure of their lives.
8. Under Wraps (1997)
This is a Disney Channel original movie about a mummy that comes back to life. Three 12-year-old kids discover that if the mummy is not put back in its coffin by the end of Halloween night, it will cease to exist. Save the mummy!
9. Halloweentown (1998)
This features the journey of a young witch named Marnie, in which she has to overcome both her strict mom and a dark force that is bound to take over Halloweentown.
10. Practical Magic (1998)
In this not-so-typical love story, a witch loses her husband after her family is cursed. This spell makes sure that every man with which the witch falls in love is doomed to die. Can a little magic save the day?
