Five Things to Talk About at LIT Night

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bucknell chapter.
  1. Are you going to The Hunt? This seems to be the question of the month around campus.  The Hunt is an annual event that takes place in Far Hills, New Jersey on Saturday, October 18.  More than 35,000 college students gather on the lawn for what is known to be an amazing day full of debauchery.  Tickets are $100 in addition to a spot on the lawn, food and drinks.  So ask around and find out if it’s actually worth it.
  1. Lena Dunham’s new book Not That Kind of Girl: I know everyone is so busy, and pleasurable reading is most likely the last thing on your mind. However, Dunham’s new book is destined to be amazing. I mean it’s written by the Lena Dunham!  Time Magazine calls the memoir/advice manual a “must read,” and this collection of essays and advice is the perfect way to de-stress after a long day or week.  What’s better than a glass of wine and Dunham’s wit? Nothing.
  1. Beyonce and Jay Z: Because who doesn’t love talking about Beyonce and Jay Z, right?  No, but really Beyonce and Jay Z’s ending to their “On the Run” Tour in Paris is legendary.  And even though this video was released over two weeks ago, it still deserves to be watched and talked about for weeks to come. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmfmdKOLzVI
  1. The ongoing manhunt happening in PA: Eric Matthew Frein is the target of a massive manhunt occurring in Pennsylvania after he ambushed PA State Police barracks on September 12, killing one state trooper and critically injuring another.  Frein has been on the run since the attack and has been named to the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted” list.  But, no need to worry; the search is going on over two hours from Lewisburg on the border of Monroe and Pike counties in the Poconos.  Being safe should always be a priority – lock your doors, always walk with a buddy, and don’t talk to strangers!
  1. What are you doing for Fall Break?  Don’t pretend like it isn’t all you’ve been thinking about.  Fall break means amazing food, seeing home friends, lots of shopping, spa days, and no work. What’s better?! Why not ask your friends for advice on where to go shopping or what you should do with your hair when you get it done over break.
