Why You Need to Visit Newton Centre

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Less than a mile away from Newton Campus, and a short bus ride from Main Campus, is the gem that is Newton Centre. Though quiet, Newton Centre offers a variety of shops and restaurants, perfect for Collegiettes™. Here are a few places you need to visit for a quick break from the hustle and bustle of campus.

J.P. Licks:

An institution in Boston, J.P. Licks serves some of the best ice cream around. The shop not only has standard crowd pleasers like Cookie Dough and Mint Chip, but also offers monthly flavors, like Salty Caramel and Mocha Chip. Now that fall has arrived, make a trip to J.P. Licks for fun seasonal drinks like Maple Spice Lattes and cider.

Johnny’s Luncheonette:

Tiny, yet delicious, Johnny’s Luncheonette is an old-fashioned diner-style restaurant that not only has tons of options, but also serves breakfast all day long. The spot is perfect for brunch, and even better for satisfying your sweet tooth; mini milkshakes can be served alongside any meal!

Panera:

A fan favorite, Panera is the perfect place to visit as the temperature starts cooling off. Grab a group of friends, take advantage of the outdoor seating, and treat yourself to a bowl of mac and cheese or the famous broccoli and cheddar soup.

Hi I'm Olivia! I'm a junior at BC who loves writing, photography, John Mayer, and anything beauty related.
I am a Political Science major and Women's and Gender Studies minor at Boston College. I am an RA on campus and am involved in the Student Admissions Program. Since I am from Florida, I can legitimately say that I love long walks on the beach. I also love getting lost in a world fabricated by a novel, there is honestly nothing better.
