My friend Haley DeLuca (@hdelucs) once tweeted “Everywhere I walk on this campus I’m walking uphill,” and never before have 140 characters or less so succinctly summed up my life at Davidson. The hardest part of my day is leaving my apartment and walking up the hill, whether it’s to go to class or to meetings or to the gym (lol). The Davidson hill is, quite literally, my Everest. I love to complain about physically exerting myself each day, and who better to explain these stages with me than America’s favorite diva, Mindy Kaling.
1. When all your roommates are gone and you have to walk up the hill by yourself.
2. When you round the corner by the BSC, see the hill before you, and realize you just want to go back home.
3. When you pass Rusk and feel the incline begin *cue internal pep talk*
4. When you reach the brick stairs and vow to exercise every day.
5. When you reach the (brief) flat part by Duke, and feel like you can do anything.
6. When you realize the HILL KEEPS GOING past Sentelle.
7. When you finally reach the Waves statue and can see the end.
8. When you FINALLY reach Chambers #blessed.
9. When you make it to your class on the third floor right before it begins.
