When you talk about fraternities and sororities, you immediately think of dark basements with neon lights and red solo cups. These are social fraternities and sororities. Many times the professional fraternities are forgotten. The main difference is that the professional fraternities are co-ed and based on interests. You’re still allowed to join a social fraternity/sorority, but when you join a professional fraternity, you’ll be with like-minded people. Freshmen: you can rush professional fraternities in the Fall, while you can only rush social ones in the Spring.
