The roundups of trends after Fall Fashion Week are able to exclusively predict what girls will be taking home in their shopping bags this coming spring. Last year, Céline’s take on an updated, clean slip-on shoe pretty much ensured that most ladies would be sporting those comfy kicks throughout the next season. Here are my top three trends from Fall 2015 NYFW that I hope will make it into my wardrobe ASAP.
All-White Ensembles
The old standby of no white after Labor Day is totally outdated at this point. Sure, people wear their white jeans and tees year round, but this year I’m going to wear full white ensembles in modern cuts to keep things fresh. I love the idea of contrasting a structured, moto jacket with loose pants (a la Lubov Azria).
The Revival of Gingham
This classic print is no longer just for prepsters and kindergarteners. By keeping things clean and simple (and steering clear of preppy items like polo shirts and pleated skirts), Gingham can look extremely chic and modern. I love the idea of wearing mixed separates or a relaxed maxi dress (both from Diane von Furstenberg).
Romantic Skirts
Midi skirts were on trend last spring but this season, Michael Kors stepped it up by adding fun textures and fabrics to revamp these modest skirts. I especially love the floral applique version that he made.Â
