Media Arts Geniuses hosted their first event of the semester on Friday, welcoming new and returning VSU students together to bring light to some on-campus organizations. “Pre-Function 2” introduced some of the most well-known organizations at Valdosta State. They all gathered in the Student Union ballrooms and set up booths with a unique display where students could personally talk to members. Students could sign up to join or gain more information about organizations they were interested in.
To recognize each groups, someone of leadership explained the purpose and mission of their organization. Amidst other reorganizations, the Mu Omicron chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha announced that they will be hosting their annual homecoming step show “Phrozen Genesis: The Coldest Experience” on October 25th.
MAG closed their event and entertained their guests with performances by a few of VSU’s very own. Landis Johnson sang a rendition to “I Need You Now” by Smokey Norful, and a very talented Abriel Blake also preformed a debut of her single “Make Me Fall,” featuring the rapper Matt Jay.
Participating Organizations:
Gay Straight Alliance, Habitat for Humanity, Her Campus, VSU Women of Diversity, Collegiate Women of VSU, IFC, Alpha Phi Omega, NPHC, Black Student League, Distinguished Women of Excellence, Collegiate Men of VSU, NAACP of VSU, and MAG.
