This cutie is Emily Milnamow, a rising junior at SMC from Indiana. These are the questions you are dying to know!
 Â
What are you majoring in?
My major is Communication.
How did you get through Gen Eds?
Perseverance ladies. Stick it out and you might end up finding your new major!
Which class has been the most enjoyable?
I think the class I am happiest I took was my first comm class with Prof. Baxter because it made me realize how much I love comm and made me change my major.
Do you have a nickname? What is the story behind it? Do you like it or do you just deal with it because it stuck?
Yes, my nickname is Marv. It started in Rome when my friend Shinny (Sinead) wanted to give me a nickname that no one had ever called me before and Marv was the one that stuck. At first I was a little hesitant, but now I love being called Marv, its very different and makes people do double takes when they hear it.
How many pieces of luggage will you be bringing in the fall?
Pshaw! My whole car full.
What is your cant leave home without item that you need for school?
I could not come to school without my pillow and Vicks Vapo Rub.
What is the craziest thing on campus (which you are willing to share) that you have done?
Ghost hunting in Le Mans was definitely a pretty crazy and fun time.
What is your favorite event at SMC? ND?
One of my favorite events is tailgating at Notre Dame football games.
What is your favorite thing to do in the bend?
In the Bend it’s just fun to be with my friends doing anything it doesn’t really matter as long as the company is good.
Having chosen to attend an all-girls school, what is your tip on getting guys?
Tinder. Just go have fun and be open to meeting new people.
You studied abroad in Italy, what would you say to a SMC student thinking about going abroad?
If you are questioning whether you should go abroad, you 100% should definitely go abroad! Going abroad is a completely life altering experience that will change you in ways you did not know possible.
What was one of the best experiences while being abroad?
When I was in Italy, my friend and I travelled to Poland and it was amazing! Krakow is such an awesome city and visiting the Holocaust concentration camps was one of the most intense and powerful experiences of my life.
What is your life plan?
My life plan is to, (after school) move to Maine and open a bookstore and live on the coast with a Newfoundland (and lumberjack husband, if I can find one)
Hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about one of the cuties in my life!
