Where do you get your inspiration for your personal style?
My inspiration stems from many places. None of my style is original; I just take little bits from different sources and make it my own. A lot of it comes from various hip-hop artists, athletes, family members, friends and peers. It’s kind of a combination of Hypebeast meets GQ.
What are your three favorite brands/stores to shop at?
That’s like asking my overweight adolescent self to pick my 3 favorite flavors of ice cream. I can’t choose, and even if I could, it wouldn’t feel right to do the others like that. My staples are Nike pants, Carhart hats, and shirts from H&M.Â
What do you do on your free time?
Kick it with the crew, wine tasting, book shopping, clothes shopping, thrift shopping, art museums, volunteer, sports, and sleep.
What is one fashion faux pas that you can’t stand?
Matching couples in public or when people wear 50 shades of grey!
What is your opinion on the styles and trends at Oregon?
here is a lot of good style and trends at Oregon. There are a lot of not so good styles as well. I prefer to praise the good then knock the bad so I will touch on what I like. The NW is pretty hip so I think a lot have been positively influenced. The culture has also benefited also with Nike and Adidas being so close. Nothing is better than a girl who has good unique style, they can be a little intimidating though. Over all, I think International Students do it the best. High fashion meets street wear. If I had the budget, I would definitely incorporate more of their styles.
What are your feelings on the “hipster” culture and look?
I can’t stand mainstream hipster culture besides the coffee. The vibe is smug, ignorant, and just a bit annoying. As far as the look the goes, it is pretty nice in moderation. The people have style no doubt, you just can never go full hipster.
