When you live in New York, you’re bound to have trust issues with the weather. That’s why it’s a very smart thing when a fashionista on campus wears a look that’s adjustable to any temperature of the day. We caught up with Alexia Alurralde on this breezy day to not only find out where we can pick up our own pair of velvet pants, but to seek inspiration from her versatile style.
Name: Alexia Alurralde

Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would describe my style as laid back and fun. I love prints and colors and I enjoy mixing different textures as well. I want to feel comfortable with what I’m wearing, without looking like a hot mess.
Q: What do you feel is going to be a big trend this spring/summer?
A: I think this spring/summer prints are going to be a big hit. It could be either as an accessory or as a main piece, but definitely prints.
Q: Where do you usually like to shop?
A: I don’t have a specific place to shop. If I find something nice in a store, I’ll buy it. I also like thrift stores a lot. I do really enjoy browsing through Forever 21 because it’s affordable. I love Urban Outfitters because you can always find really interesting pieces.
Q: If you could only wear one designer/brand for a year who/what would it be?
A: I think it would have to be anything from Urban Outfitters. While I do think it’s a little pricier, I really enjoy how diverse their clothing is. You can find an outfit for pretty much any occassion there.
