A farewell note to my staff

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tulane chapter.

To my staff,

It’s that time of year again -time to cram our noses to our books hoping to make it through that exam, time to rush to pack up our rooms, and time to say, “aidos!” until next year rolls around. However, for those of us graduating, we are trying to soak up every last memory, make our hugs extra big, and take those final few pictures -it may be a while until we see each other again. To my wonderful Her Campus Tulane staff, this note is for you. First, to thank you for making this year such an incredible journey and second, to attempt to inspire you as much as you have inspired me.

So amidst the rush and the hustle and bustle of this time of year, take a minute and slow down and soak up those last moments, summer will come soon enough. :) I leave you with some final food for thought. These words have guided me over the past years, and it is my hope that they do the same for you. From the pages of Robert Fulghum’s, All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten:

All I Really Need To Know about hot to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarten.

Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate-school mountain, but there in the sandpile at Sunday School. Therse are the things I learned:

Share everything.

Play fair.

Don’t hit people.

Put things back where you found them.

Clean up your own mess.

Don’t take things that aren’t yours.

Say you’re sorry when you hurt somebody.

Wash your hands before you eat.

Flush.

Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.

Live a blanced life -learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.

Take a nap every afternoon.

When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together.

Be aware of wonder.

With this, I say my final goodbye. May our paths cross at some point again in the future (there is always an open invitation to crash on my couch). So really, it’s not goodbye forever, it’s simply so long for now. Lastly, and most importantly, it wouldn’t be a proper send off if I didn’t reference something techy ;) -Stay humble*, stay foolish.

Over and out,

-e
