As you all know, I was super excited for Juniata College’s Major Event this year. When the artists were announced I wrote this post to get campus geared up for two top performers to come to Juniata. Let’s just say, no one was disappointed. The Mike Posner and Kris Allen Concert was definitely one night at Juniata I’ll never forget. Thanks to the success of Her Campus and JAB (Juniata Activities Board) I was able to secure a backstage pass and meet the artists.
I think one of my favorite things about the event was that it was totally put together by Juniata Students. JAB is a unique club on campus that enables students to put together outstanding events to enhance student life at JC. In addition, it was great to see the baseball team helping out with concert security, just showing how people from all over campus come together at Juniata.
Overall, it was an awesome night. Going to a small school like JC, it was amazing that we were able to pull artists from the top of the charts.
First, Kris Allen rocked the house. His smooth sound, and jean-jacket wearing guitar player, really had the crowd going to say the least.
Not only that, but I got to meet Kris Allen and crew! A lot of artists get flack for being conceited and rude but I have to say Kris Allen was such a nice guy. His whole gang stuck around for meet and greets with the President and I even got a picture with him before Mike Posner arrived for his set! Rock on Kris Allen, you are awesome.
Then Mike Posner came on and Juniata students went wild! I can’t recap the whole evening but here are some of the highlights.
#1. Mike Posner arrives and is looking fine.
#2. Senior Class President, Dan Gray, tells him his shoe is untied and he proceeds to sit down and tie it on stage.
#3. Then Posner put on this strange velvet cloak and had a hug teddy bear… still not sure where this came from.
#4. Wait, time for another costume! And this time it’s a Juniata jersey!
#5. Things heat up… Posner takes his shirt off.
#6. He gives it to this girl and her life is made.
#7. Mike Posner and I have a moment making eye-contact during his new song “Looks Like Sex” in which he takes my phone onto stage and films himself singing into it and the JC major event crowd. Bottom line, the video is gold. I could die now and be happy.
