Campus always seems to be buzzing with events as the year comes to a close and the weather warms up. This week was the perfect example with OUAB events every night of the week and lots going on this weekend.
Â
OUAB kicked off the week on Monday with the return on OUABe Glad Day. Students could take a break from class and stop by the Union to enjoy an aqua massage, eat free snacks, and participate in some stress-relieving activities.
Â
Tuesday night saw the final karaoke night of the year at Woody’s with a 2000s theme. On Wednesday evening, students laid out blankets on the lawn of the Oval and enjoyed some popcorn while Anchorman 2 was played on a projection screen.
Â
All of these events led up to the most exciting one on Thursday with the anticipated revival of the Big Free Concert (BFC). The Chainsmokers, Caked Up and Juicy J all performed before Childish Gambino came on. Students crowded the South Oval until about 11 p.m. when the concert began to wind down.
Â
On Saturday afternoon football fans returned to Ohio Stadium to watch the Ohio State Spring Game. The game was free to students and $5 to the public. The original price for non-students was $20, however, after wanting the biggest turnout possible, Urban Meyer decided to lower that price. And with an attendance of 61,058 fans, that proved to be a great decision.
Â
The exciting week of events will conclude Sunday night with Miley Cyrus’s Bangerz tour stop in Columbus and Monday with comedian Joel McHale doing some stand-up at the Mershon Auditorium.
