As the weather warms so do our personalities, and our need to show our legs and arms is almost desperate after they’ve been cooped up all winter. And as you inspect yourself, you wonder what you’ve been doing to your skin for the past six months because it is SO not spring/summer ready. Never fear, collegiettes; here are some fun and easy face mask, body butter, and hair treatments that are sure to relax and amplify that natural beauty!
Bananabama Face Mask
As I’m sure you’re well aware, bananas have tons of potassium as well as Vitamins A, B, C, and E! They’re also chockfull of super wonderful amino acids and antioxidants that helps your skin look radiant.
What You’ll Need:
1 banana
¼ a cup of plain yogurt
2 tbs. of honey (preferably organic, unrefined honey!)
Mash the banana and mix it in with the yogurt and honey. Put it on your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Then wash it off with lukewarm water. Add a splash of cold water to lock in the moisture and voila! Your face should feel smooth and silky!
Another alternative is to just put the mashed up banana on your face and leave it for the same amount of time as the mask above — the yogurt and honey are just an extra punch of moisture!

Vanilla Bean Body Butter
Not only is this super moisturizing without being greasy, but it smells amazing! Fun fact: Coconut oil is not only amazing for your skin and a natural sunscreen but it’s amazing in cooking, baking, and in your hair, too! Coconut oil is seriously a super food.
What You’ll Need:
½ cup of raw cocoa butter
½ cup of sweet almond oil
½ cup of coconut oil
1 vanilla bean
Melt the cocoa butter and coconut oil and then let it sit for about half an hour. If you have a coffee grinder, you can mash the vanilla bean in there or use a food processor or blender. Mix the remainder of the ingredients into the melted cocoa butter and coconut oil. Put the concoction in the freezer for 15-20 minutes. The last step is to whip it with a mixer or food processor and then enjoy! For a cute touch, place it in glass jars that can easily be picked up at Michael’s or any other craft store.

Hair Maskerade
What You’ll Need:
Avocado
Egg (white or yolk)
There are several options that can be done with this hair mask! You can just use the whole egg for normal hair, the egg white for oily hair (since the egg white has oil-absorbing enzymes), or the yolk for dry hair (because of all the protein in it). For an extra punch, use the whole egg, and add about two tablespoons of honey and half an avocado or a banana for more moisture!
