Spring break has come to an end. Part of you is so excited to be back, and part
Â
of you is dreading all the work that comes with the end of a semester. I was notÂ
Â
looking forward to coming back after spring break. I had secured my summerÂ
Â
internship, booked my flights to go abroad in the fall, and I had no desire to spendÂ
Â
the next five weeks in the library, stressing out. What I didn’t think about was thatÂ
Â
these next five weeks were the last I would spend with the senior class. These nextÂ
Â
five weeks would hold the foundations of the friendships that I was about to leaveÂ
Â
for the next nine months. Thinking of this, I decided that I needed to forget beingÂ
Â
in the library for the rest of my semester and enjoy my last weeks as a sophomore.Â
Â
Here are some ways you could live up your last weeks of the semester!
Â
1. Hit up Whits!
Â
Whits is back in action and it’s the perfect study break! Check out the flavorsÂ
Â
of the week (I have them written down) and walk down from the library on aÂ
Â
sunny day. It’s a great way to spend time with friends, soak up some sun, andÂ
Â
treat yourself for all of the hard work that you do.
Â
2. Dedicate at least one night a week to friends
Â
Instead of planning meetings on meetings and spending every night in theÂ
Â
library, end your work at 8 pm and go hang out with your friends. It’s notÂ
Â
only something to look forward to throughout the day, but it’s also a great
Â
way to split your time between school and friends. Get a bottle of wine (if
Â
you’re 21), eat some snacks, watch your favorite shows and catch up. TakeÂ
Â
advantage of living just a floor away from your closest friends because it’s
Â
not going to be like that forever.
Â
3. Go out at least one night a week!
Â
College will end and you can have the rest of your life to sit in bed withÂ
Â
Netflix, if you please. So go out at least one night a week! There are only soÂ
Â
many Sunny apartment parties a Denison student can go to before they’reÂ
Â
out in the real world. Even if you think you’re too old for these frat parties,Â
Â
you’re only going to get older…so go!!
Â
4. Enjoy the spring weather!
Â
It’s finally nice outside. Take advantage of every sunny and warm day. Go onÂ
Â
a bike ride or a run with friends and enjoy not wearing your winter coat forÂ
Â
the first time in a long time.Â
Â
Most importantly, remember that school is always a priority, but so are friends. SoÂ
Â
take breaks and spend time with the people who mean the most to you. You won’tÂ
Â
be within walking distance of them forever, so enjoy the time that you are. You willÂ
Â
remember the times that you laughed so hard that you cried more than you willÂ
Â
remember the hours you spent in the library.
