As the temperatures rise and the days become longer, festival season comes upon us. Whether it is Coachella in the Indio desert, Lollapalooza in the windy city of Chicago or (my personal favorite) Outside Lands in San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Park, each region of the United States has an excuse to forget about the past school/work year and hit their local landmarks for days/nights of endless music, tantalizing refreshments and (most importantly) sensational festival fashion.

So while you are enjoying the sounds of Ellie Goulding, the iconic songs from Outkast or singing along to Lana Del Rey, you should make sure you’re looking on point while doing it!

This outfit consists of all the festival fashion must-haves: floppy hat ($25 – Forever21) – a cute accessory while maintaing sun-protection, a bucket-bag/cross-body bag – this is a must if you are going to a festival, you do not want to be lugging around a huge tote while trying to get your groove on to Eminem, booties ($50 H&M) – this is probably the most important festival must-have, if you have ever been to a festival or talked to someone who has, you know that it is dirty and you do not want to be wearing open-toed shoes or sandals, so maintain cute, clean feet while looking stylish with cut-out booties!

This look is my personal favorite and is most-likely going to be similiar to what I wear to Outside Lands in August! The same must-haves are present in this outfit idea, the comfortable closed-toed shoes ($49 Nordstrom.com), the easily-accessed (and still stylish) cross-body ($73 debenhams.com), the lace-desingned sunnies ($14, 80spurple.com), comfortable and slighty-sexy high-waisted jeans ($40 etsy.com) with a cool embellished crop top ($33 riverisland.com) to make sure you don’t die of heat in the sun. My favorite part of festival fashion is the flowers in the hair of girls as they glide from stage to stage, it is such a simple accessory but can really make an outfit and let’s be honest what girl wouldn’t want flowers in her hair (festival or not)?

This last festival fashion look is for the girl who edgy but girly. The phrase tee ($13 pullandbear.com) really helps make the statement skort ($32 boohoo.com) more casual and festival friendly. The great thing about the bottoms is that they are a skirt/short mix (skort) so you won’t have to worry about the desert wind blowing up your skirt for all of the festival-goers to see! The booties ($30 amazon.com) in this outfit also really edge up the flowery skirt and make the outfit a girl-next-door with a edgy/risky twist. One cannot embark onto a weekend of festival activities without a fresh maincure and this spring the trend nail colors are pastels, so this baby blue nail color ($19 net-a-porter.com) is a perfect touch to this outfit. And we can’t forget the Barbie pink camera (Urban Outfitters) that will be the cherry-on-top of this already amazing outfit! Not only will this camera be an added accessory but you can snap away all weekend long and create and capture memories as you go!

I hope these outfit ideas helped you get inspired for the upcoming festival season and even if you’re not hitting up any festivals this spring or summer, all these outfits are perfect for any concert or day out on the town!

Happy Festival Season collegiettes!
