Every Fairfield-er knows that Point Days are a quintessential part of the Fairfield University experience. Point Days in the spring are hands down one of the most fun things you will experience as a Fairfield student. With a ton of fun spring events happening down at the beach, it’s important to know the do’s and don’ts of “darty-ing” at Fairfield Beach.
Do keep it casual.
Picking the perfect Point Day outfit can be tough. You want to be comfortable, but cute at the same time. Think maxi-dresses, sundresses, crop tops, sandals and maybe a cardi or jean jacket, for chillier days. No tight mini-skirts, please. Save those for a night out.

Don’t look like you just did the walk of shame.
It’s important to stay looking fresh even if you’re hungover. Take the time to get yourself together, you’ll be glad that you did!
Do introduce yourself.
It’s important to introduce yourself when the people who live on the Point are not people you know. They will appreciate it and it ultimately makes for a less awkward experience.
Don’t pre-game too hard.
Pace yourself. Point Days are way different from a night out and not everyone thinks being blackout while the sun is still up is acceptable.
Do snap the perfect Instagram.
If it isn’t on Instagram, did it really happen? Everyone knows posting a picture is the best way to let everyone see the beauty of Fairfield Beach and how cool your school is.
Don’t just waltz into a beach house if you don’t know who lives there.
It’s important to be respectful. If you are in a house and don’t know its’ residents, don’t just assume you can use their bathroom or climb up on their roof.
Do bring a little cash for a cab or food.
If your ride back to campus bails or find yourself wanting a bite to eat, you’ll be happy that you brought an extra $20 to take a cab back or get Beachside. I recommend The Dugout though, you won’t be disappointed.
Don’t do something stupid.
Be careful! Don’t jump off a deck just because it might be entertaining for everyone who sees it. You will probably eat s**t anyway.
Don’t come empty-handed.
All seniors know how annoying it is when underclassmen drink from the BRO (Beach Resident Organization) kegs, instead of bringing their own drinks. If you aren’t a senior, don’t put a dent in the supply.
Do have fun!
Most importantly, Point Days are supposed to be fun. Just follow these easy rules and you’re guaranteed to have a good time.
