Bermuda, Bahamas, I miss being a tan mamma! Got the post-spring break blues? It is understandable. You just came off a week of pure relaxation and bliss, and now you are forced to adapt back into the cold and relearn concepts that managed to seep out of your brain during that one study-free week off.
So, how do you cope? How do you adjust from beaches and bikinis to snow and sweaters? Luckily, Syracuse is through the most brutal part of winter. It will officially be spring on March 20th! In no time beautiful daisies will be popping up through the mounds of snow, and the sun will shine and warm your bronzed skin.
Stay optimistic. Soon, you will experience the warm, sunny Syracuse you first experienced during your admitted student tour.
In the meantime, here are a few activities to take your mind off of the snow, the cold and the lack of palm trees located in Cuse.
1) Get a manicure and pedicure. Just because your toes are not in the ocean and you’re not getting a natural exfoliate from the sand does not mean you can’t treat yourself to a soothing spa treatment.
2) Get a spray tan. As your natural tan fades, and your confidence dwindles, get a spray tan to continue that bronzed glow.
3) Go for a walk/run outside. As the weather warms, why would you want to go for a run on the treadmill in the stuffy gym? Take advantage of the spring weather and get your body in shape for the beach while getting a nice view of Syracuse.
4) Go to Destiny USA for more than just a shopping experience. Whether you try out the indoor ropes course, laser tag, bowling, the race track or a nice southern style meal and country music at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill, you’re guaranteed a great, warm time.  It’s almost like a resort vacation!Â
5) Make some tropical drinks. Just because there are not fresh coconuts in your backyard does not mean you cannot make a pina colada. The delicious, island-y taste will bring you back to the tropics and relax your stressed mind.
Try any (or all) of these five activities, and you will breathe easy as the transition into warm spring weather begins.
