Tinder, the all-powerful hook-up app, has driven college students crazy. As a testament to its infamous success, I joined to see what everyone is raving about and why not meet some guys along the way? All Tinder consists of is rating people off their looks—it’s as simple as a yes or no. Meet the good, bad and ugly.

The Good
Many guys on Tinder you may know, since Tinder uses location settings to find other users. So when scrolling through I found other members of Greek life, my co-workers, friends even family (as weird as that sounds). Swipe to the right to like their picture and spark a conversation. This conversation usually goes well until it either gets awkward or someone initiates meeting up… which may not always be the best decision.

The Bad
So basically Tinder has its ups and downs. Tinder tries to show you people to rate based on your age, sexual preference and your interests. Sometimes you don’t get the best of matches.  Sometimes the matches are very attractive but their personalities don’t seem up to par. Some people are just out to have fun or ask some inappropriate questions.
Â
The Ugly
We all know that one kid that is just looking to see if people think he or she is attractive.  Tinder is a confidence booster for many people.  Sometimes matches will be people who aren’t so attractive but are looking for friends.

So to join or not to join? That is the question.
