Eyes Lips Face products (better known as e.l.f.) are some of the least expensive beauty products out there, perfect for us collegiettes™ with empty bank accounts. They manufacture a whole assortment of products, from primer to powder, blush to bronzer, eyeshadow to mascara.
Cheap doesn’t have to mean crappy, and these five e.l.f. products prove it.
1. Mineral Eyeshadow Primer ($3)
Eyeshadow primer evens out your eyelid tone, makes eyeshadow more vibrant and true-to-color, and prevents eye makeup from creasing and smudging. The gold standard for eyeshadow primer is the Urban Decay Primer Potion ($20), but e.l.f.’s primer gives Urban Decay a run for its money. Both hold up equally well to the test of time and of smearing. Just remember that a little dab will do ya, when it comes to primer.

2. Studio Maximum Coverage Concealer ($3)
Take it from a major acne sufferer that this product is truly full coverage. Nothing covers the redness of my acne better than this concealer. I often have the problem of makeup caking in the dryness of pimples, but e.l.f.’s concealer applies flawlessly. A little goes a long way, so this tube lasts me up to a year. I suggest it to cover up blemishes and to use as undereye concealer.
3. Studio Body Shimmer
I absolutely love this body shimmer. It comes in a tiny deodorant-like package that has a twist on the bottom to push the product up. Highlight your collarbones and cleavage with this product, or apply down the center line on the fronts and backs of your legs to make them look more long and lean.
4. Studio Eyebrow Kit ($3)
So many magazines suggest creating a dramatic look by filling in brows, but finding an eyebrow kit is difficult. E.l.f.’s kit works wonderfully, is super cheap and is easily available online. I use this eyebrow kit to fill in the sparse parts of my brows. E.l.f. offers four different shades to match your coloring. I’d highly recommend this to light-haired women with invisible brows.
Makeup brushes tend to be expensive at department stores, pharmacies, and sometimes even at Target and Walmart. E.l.f. brushes are inexpensive and get the job done. My favorite is their fluffy blending brush (only $1) that I use to blend eyeshadow flawlessly.
