Blast From The Past: 4 Shows To Revisit

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

The weather doesn’t seem to be getting better anytime soon, and collegiettes all across campus are staying in their dorms with a steaming cup of coffee and their laptop. We all know what that means—catch up time for our favorite TV shows.

After that initial catching up, what next? While there is that essay you could work on, a better (read: more fun) alternative is starting on a new show that isn’t necessarily new. Most people look to start shows that are currently on air, but try going back to shows that off air. It’s way easier to find the episodes, and this way you’ll be able to finish watching the entire series without waiting for long periods of time.

Here are four shows you should consider revisiting:

1. Gossip Girl

It wouldn’t be surprising if you read the iconic line from the show “you know you love me” with omniscient Gossip Girl’s voice. Though it ended in 2012, it is still near and dear to most collegiettes’ hearts, who grew up with Nate Archibald’s (played by Chace Crawford) dreamy blue eyes and Blair Waldorf’s (played by Leighton Meester) signature hair band. You’ll be left wondering if New York’s elite really live like this, but you’ll finally get to know who the mastermind behind Gossip Girl is.

2. One Tree Hill

All over, fan girls lament the end of this show, specifically the end of getting to see Lucas Scott (played by Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan Scott (played by James Lafferty). The story focuses on these two half-brothers, whose relationship develops over the course of the season at a high school in the fictitious Tree Hill, North Carolina. Meanwhile, we get to see relationships budding, and with that, drama. If you feel like rehashing old high school memories, go ahead and check this show out.

3. Veronica Mars

This show has recently made headlines because fans have raised over $5 million for a Kickstarter campaign to produce an accompanying movie by the creator of the show and the main actress herself, Kristen Bell. In the actual show, she plays Veronica Mars, who has the dual role of a high school student and private investigator, after her father. She solves various cases over the seasons. And, of course, she has a love-interest with Logan Echolls, played by Jason Dohring.

4. Breaking Bad

Curious about the hype behind the hit series Breaking Bad? Now is your chance to watch it. With about 62 episodes, there is definitely enough content to last you a weekend, if not several. Unlike the three shows above, this features a balding man by the name of Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston), who after a few unexpected twists, partners up with a former student by the name of Jesse Pinkman (played by Aaron Paul) to sell drugs. If you’re a chem major, the accuracy with which Walter produces the drugs might shock you. Interest peaked? Check this show out on Netflix.

Try to pace yourselves as you watch these four amazing shows. Happy watching!
