In the last month, this winter has been nothing less of brutal. It is bitter out, and you even find yourself not texting for fear your fingers might become frost bitten. Regardless of the cold winter, it is still important to get to the gym and exercise. Use these tips to motivate yourself to get out of your cozy bed and into the polar vortex.
1. Think about all the junk you ate over the break: cookies, cakes, frozen yogurt, and all those late night food runs that could not have been good for you. It is the time to get out of the rut of unhealthy eating and to feel good about yourself by working out.Â

2. Make an exercise pact with a friend. You both can complain together about the frigid walk to the gym, but at least you have someone to go with! Take a fitness class like Zumba or Pilates to work out your frozen muscles. Having a friend to go with will make it fun, and it will be good to have company. Plus you are less likely to cancel on gym plans if you know you have a set plan.
3. Treat yourself to new work out gear. You will be so excited to rock the neon sneakers and cute yoga pants at your next gym session. Check out my previous blog post on cute work out gear for some ideas.

4. Listen to some awesome tunes. Check out Spotify’s playlist called “House Workout,” which has some awesome upbeat music to get you working hard. If that is not what you are into, Spotify has a variety of workout playlists, so you can find what you like best.
