If this past Sunday you were busy with other engagements (ie. Dowton Abbey, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, homework, etc) and missed the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, no worries, we have you covered. This yearâs show was a full-blown spectacular with some performances you certainly wonât want to miss.
The show started off at personal high point when BeyoncĂ© took the stage. You could hear screams across campus as Queen Bey took the stage with nothing but a chair, some smoke and fancy lighting. She rocked out to âDrunk in Loveâ and was joined by hubby Jay-Z on stage for his verse in the songâ swooning was an involuntary response. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3kCWvPXukE
Lorde took the stage next, with a re-worked version of her hit song, Â âRoyalsâ. She put a fresh spin on the radio track. She looked like her typical Lorde-y self with dark lips and an edgy vibe, but hey, there is no denying that she is truly talented. She is 17 and has won two Grammyâs, making us feel shitty about all our accomplishments.
Hunter Hayes debuted a new song, called âInvisibleâ. His performance might now have been flashy, but it was honest and heartfelt. Pretty much all you need in a manâŠ
Katy Perry and Juicy-J gave a quite dark rendition of Dark Horse. In typical Katy Perry fashion, things were quite theatricalâthink Halloween themed with a lot of fire, crystal balls and capes. Whatâs not to love.
Keith Urban hit the stage with his song âCop Carâ along with fellow rocker Gary Clark Jr.
John Legend absolutely killed it as he belted âAll of Meâ with just a piano. My jaw dropped at the pure talent of this man. No auto-tune for this guy, thatâs for sure!
Taylor Swift sang yet another swoon-inducing rendition of âAll Too Wellâ. She looked stunning sitting at the piano with her long, flowing dress. Admittedly there might have been a bit too much head-banging, but anyone could tell that she was singing to a mysterious someone as she stared angrily into the camera.

P!nk flew above the audience in her acrobatic duet with Nate Ruess. She put all of the hours I put into the gym to shame as she defied heights and showed off her gymnastic talent. After the aerial stunts were over, she retuned to the ground9 with the rest of us mortal souls to sing her hit song âTryâ and âJust Give Me a Reasonâ with fun.

Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons gave what only can be called an explosive performance of âm.A.A.D. Cityâ and âRadiocativeâ. The combination of the two talents was quite surprising, but they rocked it. Kendrick rapped away while the band pounded away on their drums.Â

The Grammys came to a close with a rock ânâ roll performance from Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age, cutting to credits during their performance.
