5. Try New Places You’ve Never Been Before
So you’ve lived in Tallahassee for a few years now, but you have not tried that great vegan restaurant on Tharpe Street…now is the time to do it! Some of us may not get the chance to come back to this city after graduating, so try and visit all the places you can. If you are 21 and over, don’t forget to try out Level 8 and enjoy some champagne with your friends. Don’t regret missing out on new and different places you can only find in Tallahassee.
4. Visit the Capitol Building
Let’s be honest; for some of us, visiting the Capitol Building may not seem like the most exciting thing to do, but you would be surprised at how fascinating it can be. Even if politics don’t interest you, the historical aspect should. The Florida Historical Capitol Museum is full of interesting historical exhibits that everyone should see. Not many people get the opportunity to live in their state’s capital city, so take this opportunity and explore more of what Tallahassee has to offer!
Bonus tip: You should take the elevator all the way up to the top of the Capitol Building. You can see all of Tallahassee, and on a clear day, all the way to the Gulf Coast! If that’s not enticing enough, think of how many great profile pictures you can take overlooking the entire city.
3. Spend Some Time at All the Iconic Places Around Campus
We are incredibly lucky to have such a beautiful campus. After a few years at FSU, we tend to start taking that for granted. Once you have graduated, this campus will not feel the same, so take the time to soak in everything FSU has to offer. Feel like a freshman again and get some friends together to go lay out on Landis Green. The last time you ate in Suwannee Dining Hall was probably sophomore year, so go and revel in the love Miss Killings has for you, get one last slice of pizza, and take a pocketful of cookies with you as a souvenir! Football season might be over, but visit the stadium one final time. Visit the field, sit in the stands, and take in being a Florida State Seminole. Most importantly, go visit the National Championship Trophy. We were a part of something big this year, so snap a quick picture with that glorious crystal football and take pride in going to FSU.
2. Make the Most of Living in Your Apartment
Some of us may be moving to a new city, going on to graduate school, staying in Tallahassee for a while, or moving back home with our parents. No matter what you might be doing after graduation, you will never again be an undergrad college student living on your own. This may be the last time you are living with your roommates, so stay in on Friday night and take the opportunity to really make some lasting memories with your roommates. And if you don’t get along with your roomies, perhaps now is the time to try and mend some broken bonds. Don’t move out with bad memories; only make room for great memories you don’t want to forget!
1. Don’t Be a Sideline Senior
If you are involved in an organization, don’t just sit out your last semester because you are a senior. Instead make the most of your organization BECAUSE you are a senior. This might be the fourth year you have had to deal with recruitment, but it will be your last semester being a part of something great. If you aren’t a member of an organization, join one! It is not too late to find something to be involved in for one semester. FSU can give you a great education, but they also offer wonderful opportunities to create lasting relationships and memories. Your last semester should not be wasted away because it is your last opportunity to make the most of your time here at The Florida State University!
