Meet this week’s Campus Cutie, a multi-talented student taking this campus and life by storm.
Name: Francis Senécal-Lebeuf
Hometown: Montréal, QC
Age: 22
Year and program of study: U4 Honours Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Management
Relationship status: Happily coupled
Hobbies: Walkabouts: I got the name from John Locke in LOST. It’s basically walking rather aimlessly around cities and being on the watch for hidden gems around you. It’s crazy how much you miss when you aren’t looking around you when you walk to places.
Celebrity crush: Ryan Gosling. In Lars and the Real Girl. No, just kidding, in Blue Valentine!
Turn-ons: Eccentricity. Public transit.
Turn-off: Ill-fitting suits.
Favorite spot in Montreal: Dépanneur Café, 206 Bernard St. West, for the live acoustic music, and Résonance Café, 5175 Parc Ave., for the great vegan food!
Perfect date: Something really out of the ordinary… Porn Karaoke anyone? (Yes, it’s actually a thing, Google it!)
Favorite thing at McGill: The Arts Building. When you enter through the main doors, look up: there’s a glass terrestrial globe and a celestial map you have probably never seen!
Pet peeve: Bad tippers.
Best first year memory: First night in Rez, finally out of the parental nest, on my own and enjoying my newfound total liberty!
Biggest fear: Finding out that we live in The Matrix. (Some zealous scientist found out the exact chances of this happening…. Scary.)
Dream holiday place: A four-day trip aboard VIA Rail’s Canadian train from Toronto to Vancouver, in a sleeper cabin with great meals and amazing scenery.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? On some form of public transit, going to work with one of my kids?
Where to find you on a Friday night? I’m so unpredictable; I could be on a dance floor, or with friends around a good meal and good wine. Or watching Netflix in bed.
