Well Collegiettes, the impending doom that is finals week is getting closer and closer every day—less than a week away to be exact (the words omgomgomg are going through your head right now). Do you feel prepared? Yea, me neither. To make the transition into the most terrible time of the year a little easer (which is followed by the most wonderful time of the year, shout-out to Christmas), here’s a few tips to surviving.
1. Order take out for every meal if necessary. When you’re studying around the clock no one has time to actually make food. Or if you’re like me, you never really make food to begin with. NO CARB LEFT BEHIND.
2. Make sure to do laundry the week before, so you can wear the same leggings and yoga pants every day without feeling (quite as) guilty. Bonus: we all know yoga pants bring all the boys to the yard.
3. Make sure you bring a friend with to watch your stuff while you go to the bathroom/go for a walk/take a quick power nap. We’ve all been that girl to carry our laptop with us to the bathroom because there’s no one around to watch it. Oh…is that just me? Okay.
4. Consider going to the gym as a study break. Even though exercise is probably going to the last thing on your mind during finals, studies show that working out will make you feel more energized and refreshed. Yes, walking to College Library does count as exercise. Also, kissing for an hour burns 68 calories. Just saying.
5. If you have a 7:45am exam (bless your soul), set as many alarms as possible. If one of your roommates happens to have one as well, go to all lengths possible to make sure both of you wake up on time.
6. Coffee is your friend. For those of you who don’t like coffee (what?) suck it up and go get some anyways. When it’s 2:30am the night before an exam and you’re on a 18 hour bender at Memorial, that Venti Double Shot Macchiato will be your best friend.
7. Last but not least, on the occasional brain break feel free to scroll through your Netflix queue in preparation for the end of exams. All six seasons of Gossip Girl in 3 days? Don’t mind if I do.
There you have it ladies, from start to finish these few tips should help you survive finals with at least a little sanity. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor. Remember the reward when it’s all said and done…
