A few days ago, I went to an author’s talk about her book that just came out. I saw four faculty I knew there. However, I did not know any students there. I was hoping more students would attend. I do not want these events to stop because of lack of student participation. Students should go to these events and experience events outside of the classroom.

Here are some locations on campus that have events that students can go to, not because a class requires it, but because it is something students enjoy and are interested in learning in:
- Dole Institute of Politics
- The Lied Center of Kansas
- Hall Center for the Humanities
- School of Music
- Natural History Museum
- Spencer Museum of Art
- Wilcox Classical Museum
- The Kansas Union
- Athletics
- Spooner Hall
- Spencer Research Library- they do not have many events, but they have great collections, including rare books and manuscripts from Medieval times.
