Campus Celeb: Brittany Hanrahan

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SJU chapter.

This week’s Campus Celeb is a leader both on and off the field. Senior Women’s Lacrosse captain, Brittany Hanrahan, is in the spotlight. Let’s get to know Brittany a little better.

Where are you from?

Hatfield, PA

What’s your major?

Communications and minor in psychology, with hopes to go into Event Marketing after college.

What do you love most about being a hawk?

Being on a team with all my best friends. Everything about being on a team at Saint Joe’s has taught me about life, like knowing everyday that I have the chance to win a championship next season.

What it’s like being the captain of the lacrosse team?

This will be my second year as a captain, and although it’s tough sometimes, it’s very rewarding as well. Being captain teaches me about myself, my goals, ambitions for the team, and makes me want to be a better person. I don’t want the season to start because I don’t want it to end. But I’m excited because of there is a lot of talent and will be a season to be talked about.

Brittany’s Junior year she Interned with Philadelphia Flyers:

Junior year interned with the Philadelphia Flyers, working every game promoting the organization and working with the marketing team. She assisted in the creation of in-game events, the design of Flyers promotional materials, and the in-game entertainment.

What was it like interning and playing lacrosse?

It was difficult because I was in season for most of my internship but it taught me time management, and I became more organized and hard working.

Tell Us about Your Study Tour to Rome.

Due to commitments with lacrosse and the flyers, I choose to do a study tour to Rome. I had never gone to Italy before but I liked being on my own traveling through Europe. I got to meet new people and experience a different culture. I also learned about the history and noticed everything offered in Rome.

If you could go back to your Freshmen year self, what would you change anything?

I wouldn’t take anything for granted, even if I had 5 am practice or 3 threes because it all goes by so quickly. And enjoy everyday even if it’s not the best because you can’t get these four years back.

Now that you’ve got a chance to get to know a little bit about Brittany, take her words of advice, and enjoy everday here on Hawk Hill!
