Campus Cutie: Irish Bachelorette Edition – Sean Gleason ’15

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Notre Dame chapter.

On the second episode of The Irish Bachelorette, Kirsten said good-bye to two more eligible Notre Dame gentlemen. James Heisler and Sean Gleason, roommates in Keenan Hall, took the time to talk with me about their experience on the show.

Year: 2015

Dorm: Keenan Hall

Major? Computer science and psychology. What’s the major you wish you had chosen? Music

Hometown: Rochester, NY

What are you involved with on campus? I’m on the sailing team, juggling club, chess club… Favorite campus activity? My favorite would be Zen meditation.

Relationship status: Single

Who are you? Who am I? I’m Sean. I like long walks on the beach, pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain. I like to have fun, I don’t get stressed very often. My motto is don’t worry be happy.

What does it mean to be a domer? Somebody that can give back to the community all that this campus has given them.

What is your best ND memory so far? I was a stripper in the Keenan Revue – it was crazy being half naked on stage in front of a couple thousand people!

What is the #1 item on your ND bucket list? Go to Feve.

What are the best and worst things about ND? The people

If you could change one thing about Notre Dame, what would it be? Tommy Rees

What’s the best class you’ve taken at ND? I’m taking Theology of Nature right now.

What’s your favorite spot on campus? Beside Moreau Seminary on the other side of [St. Joe’s] lake, looking across the water.

What did you think you were going to do when you came in as a freshman? I had no idea.

Favorite Domer – dead, alive, or fictional? Lennay Kekua

What do you wish ND girls knew? That we’re not all sex-crazed zombies. What do you wish you knew about ND girls? Which ones are worth my time…

If you could go back to freshman year and tell yourself one thing you know now, what would it be? Don’t stress!

Ideal academic and professional endgame? See how it all plays out.

In 25 years you will be… I have no idea.

Tell me something no one here knows about you. I used to have really severe OCD and anxiety.

Guilty pleasure band? Justin Timberlake

Signature drink? Arizona Green Tea

Why did you initially audition for the Irish Bachelorette? I like putting myself outside of my comfort zone. I tried out for the Leprechaun, too.

What was your reaction to meeting Kirsten for the first time? She was definitely a pretty girl but she didn’t say much.

Did you know any of the other guys? I knew James [Heisler], I knew Mike [Blume], and I knew Eli [Langson]. And I knew Zach.

How did you feel about the dynamic of the group? The guys were pretty bro but it was weird when she was around.

Did you feel like you had the opportunity to make an impression on Kirsten? No.

How did you feel about getting cut from the show? Was it a shock or did you expect it? I kind of told Agustin [on the two-on-one date] I was hoping to get cut because the next day of filming was through a football game…

Who were you rooting for to win once you left the show? Wes. He seemed actually into her.

If given another shot, what would you do differently? I would have been more comfortable on camera.

Was it what you expected? Yeah, pretty much. But it was a lot more awkward.

What do you anticipate for your love life going forward? Just gotta see how it works out.

Was the experience worth it? Yeah. I wish the best for Kirsten and hope she found the one. [I’m sorry for calling her creepy.]

Thanks, Sean!
